O is for Olympics
To celebrate the kickoff of the Olympics this summer, my friend here organized an Olympic party for all the kids. She is pretty much amazing considering she has four kids, the youngest of which is not even two months old.
It turned out amazing!!
We started with each of the kids being assigned a country to represent.
She then had the kids pass the torch. They played this a lot like hot potato, passing it around the circle to music. The last person holding the torch was out until only one country remained.
We did the javelin throw (using wooden kitchen spoons)
And archery
The long jump
And a Relay race.
The party ended with lunch, and “gold medal” sugar cookies.
The kids had an amazing time!
