My First Puzzle 4-in-a-Box {Review and Giveaway!}
Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.
Recently, The Learning Journey International sent me My First Puzzle 4-in-a-Box to review with the kids. I have to admit, I love toy and game reviews because they are so easy! Of course the kids loved their new puzzle!
This one has some really neat features that make it stand out from the crowd:
- Each puzzle increases the difficulty level, one has 2 pieces, one has 4, then 6 and 8 pieces- because of this, the pieces are all different sizes and are self-correcting.
- It has an educational theme- this puzzle has shapes, but they also have many other themes available
- The back of the puzzle is marked with numbers so you can easily separate the 4 puzzles out.
I enjoyed using this with Little Miss to work on number recognition and counting skills- we looked at the number on the back of the piece, and then counted out the correct pieces. We also worked on shape recognition using the pictures on the puzzles. Then, there is the added benefit of motor skill practice and problem solving skills as your child puts the puzzle back together again.
You get four puzzles in the box (hence the name 4-in-a-box). For Little Miss, I was able to give her just one at a time to do, and this one toy kept her entertained for longer than expected since I could rotate which puzzle I gave her, which meant it kept its “new” factor much longer than expected. Mr. Man, my 5 year old is the one who really loved this puzzle. He struggles with larger puzzles, but the big chunky pieces were solid enough, and large enough that he could manage even with the small motor issues he has. He liked to dump all four puzzles out at once, for the added challenge of putting them together.
