Field Trip Friday: Something New
Hi everyone! Normally, on Friday I would be sharing all about our adventures for the week, but because my family and I are off driving around Germany today, I want to do something a little different.
I want to introduce you to Casey.
Kind of adorable, right?
Anyways- her entire blog is adorable, and I think you should check it out. Casey is a travel blogger, a talented photographer, an amazing cook…. and really just an all around awesome person.
Casey and I met because our husbands are serving together with Uncle Sam (which explains how two American girls became friends in Germany) and we both ended up being “Key Spouses” for our unit. That’s a fancy way of saying we get to do a lot of unpaid work to help families feel informed, involved and totally loved while they are hanging out with us in Germany. We also drink a lot of wine and get to go on little adventures. It’s pretty wonderful.
After spending some time with her, I learned that Casey is a blogger too. When I checked out her work, I fell in love (and, I was a little jealous! The girl made homemade pop tarts… Who does that??!!). She has such a beautiful way of seeing the world, and does a great job sharing it. She and I share the same travel bug, only she doesn’t have kids yet, so she gets to share a lot more grown up adventures than I have the pleasure of going on!
I love her post on How Has Travel Changed Me? because she really speaks to the heart of why I love to travel so much and why I drag my kids all over Europe every Friday in leiu of a typical school day. Travel changes you for the better, and I want my kids to learn these big lessons while they are still young.
If you live in Germany, she’s a fantastic blogger for all the tips and travel inspiration you could possibly want. If you don’t live in Germany, she’s a wonderful blogger to inspire you. See the world though her eyes, I promise, you love her (and her blog) as much as I do!

Today, the family and I are diving 4 hours round trip for our field trip, and I just know the drive is going to be worth it. I can’t wait to tell you all about it next week on Field Trip Friday!
But regular pop tarts are so delicious. 🙂 I love all of the fun field trips you do. I can’t even imagine having the opportunities you are having! (By the way, where is home home for you?)
San Diego is “Home” home. I feels like a loaded question because I’ve lived all over, and have no idea if it will ever be home again! Such is the life I guess!
I may have to check out that pop-tarts recipe, and see if I can make it gluten free. I miss pop-tarts. 🙂
she is adorable and so is her blog! thanks for introducing us.
I really need to hurry up and plan my trip to Germany.
You are too sweet to me, girl!! This kind of made me tear up…ok, it did make me tear up. 🙂 I’m so happy to know you!!
Enjoy your trip! I look forward to reading about it!
I have wanted to visit Germany for a long time! Our friends were there for a few years as veterinarians and I love to hear the stories!
The idea if traveling around Europe with my children is mind boggling! How amazing!
