Back home and getting in a groove

This month has been all topsy turvy for us. My parents were able to come out and visit for the last two weeks, which means we’ve been on a vacation from school and life in general! I needed it…. I have been struggling a little with burn out.

Stepping away from all the responsibilities for a little bit has done me a world of good. I’ve been mulling over what we’ve been doing, and what I want to do and I think I’ve come up with a game plan to help me feel a little less overwhelmed.

This summer, we’re simplifying things a little bit. More time outside in the sun, and less at a desk is in order. More day trips and cultural education as opposed to desk work. The biggest goals for me this summer are to get Bug reading with expression now that he has the mechanics down (so, lots of him reading to ME! whoo hoo), I want to work more on reading with Mr. Man. I want to go to the pool once a week now that Tap class is over. I want to read, and swim, and play.  I have a plan to make that happen.

Anyways, today is my last day to take it easy, so I am going to put this computer down and enjoy the day with Nana and Oompa before they head back to the states tomorrow and I get back to “work”. I’ll see you then, and share about a million more Paris adventures!

  1. Vacation is always awesome, but getting back to a routine is too! I’m sure you’re going to be sad to see your parents go!
